It has been 20 years since the debut of the groundbreaking sci-tech film The Martian, but it still holds a special place in sci-fantasy fandom.
Now, with an all-new movie adaptation being announced, there are some new reasons to tune in and get caught up.
The Martian is a sci-fi drama that tells the story of a human explorer, Neil Armstrong, and his journey to Mars in 1968.
After he is stranded on Mars, he finds a beautiful woman named Samantha, who offers him a chance to explore the Red Planet and become a human.
However, when he arrives on the planet, he is confronted by the Martian government.
Written by Warner Bros. Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, The Martian stars Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Andy Serkis, and others.
In 2018, the film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including best picture, best director, best actor and best actress.
A movie version of The Martian has been made in several countries, including Russia, France, Italy, Brazil, Spain, China, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

The film is based on the book by Andy Weir.
Written in the style of a traditional science fiction novel, the plot revolves around the crew of the Soyuz spacecraft, who have to save humanity from a hostile planet known as “Chimera”, who is intent on exterminating the human race.
Written and directed by Damon and Brolin as well as Serkises, the movie is due for release in 2019.
It is expected to become a hit with sci-film fans, who will be able to catch up on the story through the upcoming The Martian movie.
