The pilot of a German airliner has died after crashing during a landing attempt over Germany.
The Airbus A320 plane crashed Thursday in the Bavarian state of Baden-Württemberg, according to the German airline.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the pilot was killed or injured.
The pilot was an avionics specialist and was a former employee of the company, AirBoeing, according the airline.
AirBnB, a popular online booking service, said the plane was operated by a company called AEG.
AEG said it is cooperating with authorities and would provide updates.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash.
The German state of Hesse has launched an investigation into the crash and said that it was a tragedy for the family of the pilot.
