The first food that can compete with the hamburger in quality, taste and nutrition is a vegan burger, according to a new report from the Food & Gasoline Research Institute (FGRI).
In the report, released on Friday, researchers at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University at Buffalo examined the nutrition, safety and quality of a vegan burgers, comparing them to other fast food options, such as burgers and pizzas.
They found that, compared to conventional burgers, vegan burgers have the following health benefits:A healthier diet.
Vegan burgers are higher in omega-3 fatty acids, which are vital to keeping your brain, muscles and nervous system healthy.
The fats are found in fish, nuts, seeds, legumes, vegetables and nuts, among other foods.
The researchers also found that a vegan diet, especially a vegetarian one, lowers your risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes, as well as some forms of cancer, including lung, colon and prostate cancers.
